On the evening of May 30, Lam Dong General Hospital announced that it had successfully performed surgery to save the life of patient NXQ (27 years old, residing in Ward 5, Da Lat City) who was stabbed in the chest with two iron bars.

According to initial information, on the morning of May 28, while working as a construction worker, Mr. Q. was stabbed by two large iron bars. One of them pierced from the hip to the shoulder, and the other from the armpit to the neck. The patient was quickly taken to Lam Dong General Hospital for emergency treatment.
Doctor Nguyen Xuan Tao, Deputy Director of Lam Dong General Hospital, said that the hospital received patient Q. in a state of severe blood loss, shock and critical condition due to 2 iron bars piercing through the chest and neck. These 2 iron bars caused damage to the patient's liver, diaphragm, lungs and neck. The hospital immediately held a consultation, focused on resuscitation and emergency surgery.
Two iron bars were removed from the patient's body.
According to Dr. Tao, the surgery took about 3 hours to be successful. After the surgery, the patient continued to be in a coma and had to be put on a ventilator. After about 8 hours of intensive resuscitation, the patient gradually stabilized, had the endotracheal tube removed, and was breathing oxygen on his own.
"By tonight, the patient was conscious and continued to be cared for and monitored," said Dr. Tao.
