Hanoi National University pilots inviting 100 visiting professors

The visiting professor program aims to invite and recognize about 100 outstanding scientists, experts, and prestigious scholars at home and abroad to participate in teaching, research, and knowledge transfer at Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

On July 3, the director of Hanoi National University signed a decision to issue a pilot program for visiting professors at Hanoi National University.

The visiting professor program aims to invite and recognize about 100 outstanding scientists , experts, and prestigious scholars at home and abroad to participate in teaching, research, and knowledge transfer at Vietnam National University, Hanoi in the period of 2026 - 2031.

Through the program, visiting professors will participate in in-depth teaching, organize seminars, workshops, and co-instruct doctoral students, graduate students, and talented students.

At the same time, visiting professors also play an important role in developing strong research groups, key laboratories, excellent research centers at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi level and promoting international publications.

According to Hanoi National University, this is a strategic step to concretize the major policies of the Party and State on developing high-quality human resources, promoting international integration and improving the quality of higher education and scientific research in Vietnam.

Individuals appointed and recognized as visiting professors must have the academic title of professor, associate professor or be leading experts in the field, with outstanding achievements in research, teaching and knowledge transfer.

Candidates must commit to teaching and researching at Hanoi National University in person or online, and to long-term support the school's development strategy.

Hanoi National University will give priority to scientists working in key technology fields that the university is focusing on investing in the 2025 - 2035 period such as: semiconductor chip technology, artificial intelligence and big data, robotics and automation technology, advanced biomedical technology, quantum technology, energy technology and advanced materials, smart agriculture and environmental technology and sustainable development.

Visiting professors enjoy many benefits such as remuneration according to workload, support for accommodation costs, use of research facilities and honors from Hanoi National University.

At the same time, visiting professors are responsible for complying with State and school regulations, proactively implementing work plans and making specific contributions to training and research activities at receiving units.
