Boat sinking in China kills 12 people

According to Xinhua, 12 people died and 25 people were rescued after a boat sank in Hebei province, China.


On April 14, Chinese authorities said that 12 people were killed and dozens were rescued after a boat sank in the northern province of Hebei a day earlier.

Local authorities confirmed that the accident occurred in a village in Lulong County, Qinhuangdao City on the afternoon of April 13, causing 31 people to fall into the water. Twenty-five people were rescued and taken to the hospital for health monitoring. CGTN confirmed on the morning of April 14 that all six missing people had been found safe.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the incident.
