Khuong Ha Communal House National Monument
Khuong Ha Communal House (also known as Ginger Communal House) is located at 4 Khuong Ha Street, Khuong Dinh Ward, Thanh Xuan District. This was once the place where King Quang Trung's army used to store weapons during the resistance war against the Qing army. With its special architectural and historical value, Khuong Ha Communal House was ranked as a national architectural and artistic relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information in 1993.
The communal house was built on a central axis, facing the Southeast, with the main gate facing the old village road - now Khuong Ha street. The project has a large scale with a complete architectural system including: Nghi Mon, communal house yard, front hall, main worship hall and rear palace. The characteristic of the communal house lies in the elaborate wood carvings, demonstrating the skillful techniques of ancient artisans.
Khuong Ha Communal House still preserves many valuable relics that clearly reflect the carving art of the late Nguyen Dynasty, such as: the "Khuong Ha School" stele erected in the 8th year of Bao Dai (1933), six stone steles on the left wall, and many ancient worship objects including: a throne, a shrine, incense burner carved with dragons - tigers - clouds, ancestral tablets, two large inscriptions and 21 royal decrees dating from the 5th year of Duc Long (1633) to the 9th year of Khai Dinh (1924).
Every year, on the 12th day of the second lunar month, the traditional festival of Khuong Ha communal house is solemnly held, attracting a large number of people and tourists. Outstanding activities such as procession, horse racing, dragon dance, lion dance, human chess, wrestling, Cheo singing... are not only spiritual but also an opportunity for the community to preserve and honor traditional folk cultural values.
