International partners have active interest and deep understanding of the situation in Vietnam.

Countries welcomed Vietnam's acceptance of a large number of recommendations, demonstrating its strong commitment to the UPR process in particular and to protecting and promoting human rights in general.

Deputy Foreign Minister Do Hung Viet emphasized that in an interview about the results of the meeting to approve Vietnam's UPR Report of the 4th cycle.

Within the framework of the 57th Regular Session, the United Nations Human Rights Council on September 27 unanimously decided to adopt the results of Vietnam's UPR Cycle IV Report, marking the completion of the Cycle IV review related to the protection and promotion of human rights in Vietnam and moving to the phase of implementing the recommendations.

The session was chaired by Ms. Heidi Schroderus-Fox, Vice President of the Human Rights Council. The Vietnamese delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Do Hung Viet, with the participation of Ambassador Mai Phan Dung, Head of the Vietnamese Mission to the United Nations, the World Trade Organization and international organizations in Geneva, and representatives of a number of relevant ministries and sectors.

The meeting attracted the attention and registration of about 90 representatives of countries, international organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), including Vietnamese NGOs.

Sharing with the press, Deputy Foreign Minister Do Hung Viet said that the vast majority of comments highly appreciated Vietnam's efforts, the participation of the Vietnamese delegation in open and frank exchanges and dialogues, with a lot of useful information, helping the international community better understand the situation in Vietnam.

According to the Deputy Minister, the comprehensive, objective and realistic assessments in Vietnam show that international partners have a positive interest and deep understanding of updated information about the country, people, history, culture and development process in Vietnam, as well as demonstrating our international position and prestige at multilateral forums. This is a point we need to continue to cultivate and promote in the coming time.
