Dong Nai also has the advantage of attracting investment in the field of animal feed production; production and trading of various livestock breeds as well as a system of veterinary drug stores... not only meeting the livestock needs in the province but also supplying many provinces and cities in the country. In the province, there have been established chains of linkages, consuming safe livestock products that are not only consumed well in the domestic market but also exported.
In the period of 2026-2030, the province aims to develop livestock farming towards industrialization, modernization, sustainable development and improving the competitiveness of the livestock industry. Commercial livestock products are mainly produced in concentrated livestock farms that ensure biosafety, disease safety, environmental friendliness, humane treatment of livestock, meeting quality and food safety requirements for domestic consumption and export. Forming and perfecting closed value chains in poultry and pig farming from breeding, processing, consumption to export.
Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang emphasized: After the merger, the province will continue to be the capital of pig and chicken farming in the country. The province's livestock development orientation is to develop industrial livestock farming with large-scale commodities, disease safety, food hygiene and safety, organic livestock farming, and form closed-loop chains. The specific goal set for the period 2026-2030 is to increase the growth rate of production value by 4-5%/year; by 2030, the pig herd will reach about 5 million heads, the poultry herd will reach 48 million heads; egg production will reach 2,000 million eggs.
Provincial leaders suggested: The Department of Agriculture and Environment review planning data based on old plans, identify priority areas for livestock development to call for investment in the future; at the same time, it is necessary to review and calculate the economic efficiency of 1 hectare of livestock farm investment to have appropriate development orientation.
