At 1am on the first day of the Lunar New Year 2025, the entrance to Tay Ho Temple (Tay Ho District) was packed with people coming to pray at the beginning of the year.

Outside the gate, some young people sell salt to tourists in the hope of bringing saltiness and luck in the new year.

This is the second year Pham Bao Ngan (2003) has come to Tay Ho Palace gate to sell salt after New Year's Eve. Ngan said that selling salt at the beginning of the year is like sowing good luck for everyone, it is also to sow good luck for herself.

At this time, Tay Ho Palace has not opened the worship areas inside, so people can only stand outside the yard to offer prayers.

The main courtyard area is often full due to the large number of people coming to the temple.

The offering table area was also packed with offering trays. Many people after preparing their offering trays could only stand and wait because there was no more room to put the trays.

Going to church at the beginning of the year, especially after New Year's Eve, has become a habit of many Vietnamese people in general and the capital in particular.

After watching the fireworks display to welcome the New Year, Ha Phuong Thanh (1997) and her friends from Long Bien district went to Tay Ho Palace to celebrate. Thanh shared that in this new year, she prays for good health, a smooth career and a smooth love life.

Waiting for quite a long time to be able to place the offering, Nguyen Lua carefully arranged each item neatly, clasped her hands and sincerely wished herself good things in the new year of At Ty.

Many people stood outside the main gate of the Palace, praying sincerely, wishing for good things in the new year.

Carrying the trays of offerings also became difficult when having to inch forward among the crowd of people standing crowded in the yard.

In addition to the main courtyard area, other ceremonial areas in the Palace also attract a large number of people coming to offer incense.

The later it gets, the more people flock to Tay Ho Palace. Many families, in addition to going to the temple, also have the opportunity to take a warm and memorable group photo together in the new year.

The shops in front of the Palace gate became bustling, crowded with visitors and late-night meals.
