Nearly 5,000 people 'give a heartbeat' to poor children with congenital heart disease

On March 4, in Hanoi , Gamuda Land Vietnam Company (Gamuda Land Vietnam) held the launching ceremony of the 10th "Run for the Heart" program.

This is an annual charity run organized by Gamuda Land in collaboration with the "Heartbeat of Vietnam" program of VinaCapital Foundation, with the goal of raising funds for surgery, bringing a healthy life and brighter future to poor children with congenital heart disease in Vietnam.

Mr. James Lai Siaw Pin, General Director of Gamuda Land Vietnam, spoke at the launching ceremony.

This year, "Run for the Heart" returns to Hanoi with the theme "Harmony of Life". The rhythms in music represent "heartbeats", the most effective way to heal, connect people, and connect hearts.

At the ceremony, Mr. James Lai Siaw Pin, General Director of Gamuda Land Vietnam, said that after 9 seasons, the program has raised up to 40.6 billion VND, providing free heart surgery opportunities for 1,549 children.

Sharing about the journey with Gamuda Land, Mr. Rad Kivette, General Director of VinaCapital Foundation, expressed his gratitude to Gamuda Land Vietnam for standing side by side with "Heartbeat of Vietnam" over the years to bring valuable "revival" to more than 1,500 children and happiness to their families.

Nearly 5,000 people have registered to participate in the "Run for the Heart" event in 2024.

"With the solidarity of sponsors, partners and the community in Hanoi, I believe that "Run for the Heart" will be a real festival, bringing joy, connection, promoting sportsmanship and spreading the meaning of humanity to the community, thereby helping to heal many young hearts," said Mr. Rad Kivette.

The 2024 "Run for the Heart" fundraising series officially took place in mid-January, combining both online and in-person activities. The highlight of the program is the race, which will be held on March 23 at Yen So Park (Hoang Mai District).

With the aim of allowing people of all ages to participate and contribute to the charity fund, the organizers have designed 2 distances: 3 km (Fun Run) suitable for families and children; 10 km (Pro Run) for individual and professional athletes.

After more than 1 month of opening the registration portal, up to now, the program has recorded nearly 5,000 registrants, and also received much support and companionship from sponsors.
