At the end of last night's trading session, early this morning (July 11, Vietnam time), the London - UK floor witnessed a further sharp decline in Robusta coffee, losing 3.69% - 4.32%, falling to only 3,200 - 3,300 USD/ton.

Robusta has lost nearly 40% of its value since May.

Robusta coffee prices fell the most in the September 2025 delivery period while Vietnam has not yet harvested coffee, losing up to 150 USD/ton, to 3,320 USD/ton.

March 2026 delivery futures fell by $123/ton to $3,211/ton.

Converted to Vietnamese currency, Robusta price on the floor last night decreased by 3,200 - 3,900 VND/kg, to 83,200 - 86,000 VND/kg.

Domestic coffee prices are expected to continue to decrease today, from 92,600 VND/kg.

Robusta coffee prices continue to fall

Thus, since May, Robusta prices on the floor have lost more than 2,000 USD/ton, equivalent to a decrease of nearly 40%. This is a price drop rate that many people compare to an elevator while the price increase is like a staircase.

Meanwhile, Arabica coffee prices recovered by 0.8% - 1.32%. Arabica prices for September 2025 delivery increased by 80 USD/ton to 6,340 USD/ton, equivalent to 164,200 VND/kg.

Many people still dream of the price of 150,000 VND/kg

Mr. Tran Dinh Trong, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of the Ea Tu Agricultural Service Cooperative (Dak Lak province), said that coffee transactions have slowed down since the end of June due to large price fluctuations.

According to Mr. Trong's observation , although coffee prices have plummeted, many farmers are still determined not to sell, hoping that the price can return to 150,000 VND/kg.

"Those who store coffee waiting for prices to increase can be considered investors in their own products. When investing, you have to accept the risk. Farmers simply calculate production costs, sell at a profit, then happily sell and don't think about anything else" - Mr. Trong commented.

Coffee is a major export commodity, so it depends on world prices and especially on the decisions of financial speculators. Therefore, the market is often unpredictable. There are years when there is a bad harvest but prices still decrease, and years when there is a good harvest, prices still increase.
