In the Southeast region, pepper prices in Ho Chi Minh City were purchased at 136,000 VND/kg, an increase of 3,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday; in Dong Nai, it increased by 8,000 VND/kg, at 136,000 VND/kg.

Pepper prices have increased for many consecutive days, reflecting improved purchasing demand from domestic businesses and traders, as well as expectations of an upward trend in the coming time.

Overall, domestic pepper prices are showing many positive signs thanks to stable demand and expectations of export recovery. Although world pepper prices are still somewhat unstable, in the context of tight supply, domestic pepper prices are likely to continue to increase, bringing practical benefits to farmers and export enterprises.

However, a new warning from the American Spice Trade Association (ASTA) is causing concern among pepper traders. According to information from this organization, the global market may face a sharp price increase due to supply shortages and the new US tariff policy, expected to take effect from July 9. In particular, the reciprocal tax rate of up to 46% on black pepper from Vietnam is a major barrier to export activities.
