On the evening of July 19, the Iranian women's team defeated Jordan 2-1 in the final match of Group A of the Asian Women's Football Championship qualifiers. This victory helped the Iranian women's team have 9 points after 4 matches, leading Group A and winning a ticket to the final round of the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship. Iran has the same 9 points as Jordan but topped Group A thanks to a direct victory over their opponent.

The Iranian women's team is also the last team to win a ticket to the final round of the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship. Previously, after the qualifying round on the evening of July 5, the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship final round determined 11 participating teams.

Of the 11 teams that have qualified for the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup, only Bangladesh will be making their debut. This will be a historic tournament for Bangladeshi women's football.

The 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup Finals will take place in Australia from March 1-21, with 12 teams participating. The top six teams will qualify for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil (the next two teams will play an inter-zone play-off).
