Today, August 25, Quang Tri Provincial Children's House organized the 2nd Open Chess Tournament - 2024.

The tournament had 316 male and female athletes from chess clubs in Quang Tri province, Quang Binh province, and Thua Thien Hue province.
Athletes compete in 11 age groups, including: U6 male, female; U7 male; U8 male, female; U10 male, female; U12 male, female; advanced male, female. The competition content is rapid chess. The competition is according to the adjusted Swiss system in 7 rounds.

The Quang Tri Provincial Children's Chess Tournament has created a useful playground for students to meet, exchange and compete, thereby having the opportunity to rub shoulders, exchange experiences, consolidate and improve knowledge, confidence and competitive spirit; strengthen the relationship of solidarity, mutual support and development between chess clubs inside and outside the province; contributing to promoting the strong development of the chess movement throughout the province.
The tournament aims to select talented athletes to continue training and education, and participate in chess competitions at home and abroad.

At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to athletes with high achievements in 11 competition events.
