Decoding the legend of the dragon in China's Taoist mountains

VnExpressVnExpress05/09/2023

Maoshan, a Taoist mountain in Jiangsu province, is famous for the legend of a dragon that once appeared at its foot.

Mount Mao, located between Jurong City and Changzhou City in Jiangsu Province, is one of the most famous mountains of Chinese Taoism. It is the birthplace of the Shangqing Sect, one of the oldest sects of Taoism, founded during the Eastern Jin Dynasty (316-420).

Maoshan became even more famous after the 1991 Hong Kong-produced film Mr. Zombie , in which actor Lam Ching-ying played a Taoist priest who specialized in catching ghosts.
