Navy Region 5 promotes digital transformation, ensures information security in protecting sea and island sovereignty

Synchronously and focusedly deploying digital transformation tasks associated with promoting the application of information technology, contributing to the task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. This is one of the cases noted by Colonel Trinh Xuan Tung, Commander of Naval Region 5, Head of the Steering Committee for Administrative Reform and Digital Transformation of Region 5, at the inspection of digital transformation work at Regiment 551 on the afternoon of March 13.

The Commander of Naval Region 5 inspected the leadership, direction and operation of Regiment 551 in the field of digital transformation; the work of ensuring equipment, transmission lines, digital authentication; the work of transferring - receiving - processing documents in the electronic environment; digital signature of documents, personal digital signature; the advantages, difficulties, and obstacles in the process of implementing digital transformation and the results of the unit's digital transformation work.

Through inspection, it was found that Regiment 551 has thoroughly grasped and fully implemented the directives and instructions of superiors on administrative reform and digital transformation; effectively exploited and used specialized software and shared software in document management, administration and transfer - receipt - processing of electronic documents using digital signatures. Thereby, serving well the leadership, direction and operation of the unit commander in all aspects of work.

Concluding the inspection, Colonel Trinh Xuan Tung acknowledged and commended Regiment 551 for its leadership, direction, and proactive implementation of effective digital transformation in the unit. At the same time, he noted that the Regiment needs to continue to review and synchronously deploy digital transformation tasks with a focus on key points associated with promoting the application of information technology, ensuring information security, network security, and effectively implementing training and fostering digital human resources.

The Chief of Naval Region 5 Command inspected the work of transferring - receiving - processing documents of the Regiment's Secretariat - Security staff.

Colonel Trinh Xuan Tung requested that before April 2025, 100% of relevant agencies, units and individuals in the Regiment implement digital signatures according to regulations. The Regiment coordinates with the functional agencies of the Region to ensure adequate and timely provision of information technology equipment and supplies for subordinate units to perform their tasks. In particular, priority is given to serving the work of ensuring information security, training, combat readiness, management and protection of the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
