Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Young Sam.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the efforts of the Ambassador and the Korean Embassy in Vietnam in promoting Vietnam-Korea relations; was pleased that the two countries have become each other's leading important partners; and affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will actively accompany and support the Ambassador to successfully fulfill his duties.

The Prime Minister said that the two sides need to strengthen political relations and cooperation in development areas commensurate with the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, including maintaining regular visits and contacts at high and all levels in many flexible forms; maintaining existing cooperation mechanisms as well as effectively implementing the "Action Program on implementing the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership".

Regarding economic and trade cooperation, the Prime Minister suggested that the two sides continue to promote stable and balanced trade cooperation; encourage Korean enterprises to continue expanding their investment scale, focusing on areas where Korea has strengths such as cultural industry, electronics, shipbuilding and emerging fields such as semiconductors, AI, etc.; build research and development (R&D) centers and transfer technology to Vietnam.

Korean Ambassador Choi Young Sam expressed his honor to take up his duties in Vietnam, especially in the context of the two countries' relationship having more potential for cooperation after upgrading to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Appreciating the progress in bilateral relations in recent times, the Ambassador affirmed that the Korean Government considers Vietnam a priority direction in Korea's current foreign relations, wishes to further promote bilateral relations with Vietnam and expressed agreement on the cooperation orientations outlined by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, especially on maintaining exchanges of high-level delegations and at all levels, and enhancing cooperation in all fields.

Ambassador Choi Young Sam hopes that the Vietnamese Government will continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for Korean enterprises in particular and Korean citizens in general to do business successfully and live stably in Vietnam, thereby contributing to promoting cooperation between the two countries, especially in economics and people-to-people exchange.

Regarding this, the Prime Minister emphasized that Vietnamese government agencies and localities are always ready to exchange and listen to opinions to work with the Korean side to come up with solutions to implement common goals in the most effective way, achieving benefits for both sides in the spirit of trust and sharing.

The Prime Minister also asked the Korean side to continue expanding people-to-people exchanges; enhancing tourism cooperation; supporting training and increasing the reception of high-quality Vietnamese workers.

The Prime Minister hoped that the Korean Government would continue to support the Vietnamese community to live, study and work in Korea for a long time; the two sides would strengthen cooperation in regional and international forums, including asking Korea to support Vietnam in successfully organizing the Partnership for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit in 2025.

Ambassador Choi Young Sam thanked the Prime Minister in particular and the Vietnamese Government in general for their attention; affirmed that he will make every effort to contribute to the development of the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during his term in Vietnam.
