Immediately after the 2024 U23 Asian qualifiers, 11 U23 Vietnam players were called up to the Vietnam Olympic team to attend the 19th ASIAD (Hangzhou, China). In addition, among the 12 players gathered earlier, coach Hoang Anh Tuan did not include Nguyen Cong Phuong.
The list of Vietnamese Olympic players competing in the men's football event of the 19th Asian Games is mainly made up of U20 players. Most of the pillars of U23 Vietnam, players who have a place in V-League clubs, are not present. However, coach Hoang Anh Tuan still has Phan Tuan Tai, Nguyen Thai Son, and Vo Minh Trong.

Other players transferred from the Vietnam U23 team to the Vietnam Olympic team after the 2024 U23 Asian qualifiers are Cao Van Binh, Nguyen Duc Phu, Nguyen Hong Phuc, Nguyen Duc Anh, Khuat Van Khang, Nguyen Dinh Bac, Bui Vi Hao, Nguyen Thanh Nhan.
Coach Hoang Anh Tuan registered Nham Manh Dung and Do Sy Huy for 2 over-age slots. However, Manh Dung is actually still within the age range for the ASIAD.
At the 19th ASIAD, U23 Vietnam was in the same group with U23 Saudi Arabia, U23 Mongolia and U23 Iran. The best achievement of Vietnamese football in this arena was finishing fourth in 2018, under the leadership of coach Park Hang Seo.
