Coach Philippe Troussier announced the list of U23 Vietnam preparing to participate in the 2024 U23 Asian qualifiers. Of which, 9 players who just won the U23 Southeast Asian Championship will continue to be called up, including Tran Nam Hai, Nguyen Hong Phuc, Luong Duy Cuong, Nguyen Ngoc Thang, Dinh Xuan Tien, Vo Hoang Minh Khoa, Khuat Van Khang, Bui Vi Hao and Nguyen Minh Quang.

These players just returned home today (August 26) and attended the celebration ceremony at the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) headquarters in the afternoon. Continuing to be on the list of Vietnam U23 in the next tournament is a recognition of the performance of the above group of players in the journey to win the Southeast Asian U23 Championship.

VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu reminded the players at the celebration ceremony: " The Vietnam Football Federation hopes that the players will not be satisfied with their achievements. We still have many issues to practice and improve. If we are satisfied, we will stop."

Compared to the Southeast Asian champion squad, the U23 Vietnam squad heading to the U23 Asian qualifiers is considered stronger with key players participating. These are the players who participated in the 32nd SEA Games and have played for V-League and First Division clubs such as Vu Tien Long, Phan Tuan Tai, Le Van Do, Huynh Cong Den, Nguyen Thai Son, Nguyen Thanh Nhan...

Overseas Vietnamese player Nguyen An Khanh, who is currently playing for Sigma Olomouc Club (Czech Republic), has been called up again. He will return home on August 31.

Vietnam U23 team will gather from August 29 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. This team is led by coach Philippe Troussier. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan will be in charge of another Vietnam U23 team preparing for ASIAD 19.
