In the drawing 00038 of Lotto 5/35, the entire Jackpot prize value of more than 16 billion VND was redistributed to the prize categories (except for the consolation prize) because there was no Jackpot winning ticket during the previous accumulation series.
The Jackpot will be divided proportionally: the First Prize category will receive 1/3 of the Jackpot value, the remaining categories will receive 1/6 of the Jackpot value. Since the First Prize category has no winner, the entire value of the First Prize will be divided equally among the remaining categories.
Therefore, the 24 Second Prize tickets, which were only worth 5 million VND, were divided to more than 177 million VND each thanks to the Jackpot share - 35 times the basic prize value. Other prize categories also increased sharply: Third Prize to 9.1 million VND, Fourth Prize to 5.6 million VND and Fifth Prize to 385,000 VND, instead of the initial prize value of only a few tens to a few hundred thousand VND.
