More than 170 students in Hanoi who were illegally enrolled were transferred to other schools.

A leader of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that the management system will be opened for the two schools to complete the entry of identification codes and student information. The time when the students officially transfer schools will be agreed upon by both parties and the parents.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet, Principal of To Hien Thanh High School, said that all information of 174 10th grade students of the school has been transferred to the database of Van Lang High School. The school is currently completing procedures for students to transfer to the new school.

Previously, To Hien Thanh High School was discovered by parents to have illegally recruited students, without being assigned a quota for grade 10 by the Department. 174 students had studied for more than two months, but their names were not on the system, causing parents and students to worry that they would not be able to take the high school graduation exam later. The school had to organize many meetings to reassure parents, discuss solutions, and report to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.

At the same time, Van Lang High School (Dong Da District) requested to accept these students. Ms. Nguyen Thuy Phuong, the school's principal, said that the Department had allowed them to enroll 600 10th graders but they had not recruited enough. The missing number matched the number of students at To Hien Thanh High School.

Immediately after that, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training had a plan to ensure the rights of students, which was to transfer all 10th grade students of this school to Van Lang High School. The Department also required the school to transfer students to ensure the tuition plan was clear as at To Hien Thanh School, keeping the same classes and subject combinations, ensuring the rights of parents and students.

To Hien Thanh High School was established in 1997. In previous years, the school still enrolled 10th graders, but this school year, the facilities were not guaranteed. The school has not yet announced the enrollment plan for the next school year.
