On November 11, the leader of Vinh Thanh District People's Committee (Binh Dinh) said that the Provincial People's Committee has assigned the district to be the investor and carry out procedures to prepare for investment in the construction of the new Dinh Binh bridge.

The project will be submitted to competent authorities for approval in accordance with the Law on Public Investment. According to initial calculations, the new Dinh Binh Bridge is expected to be 216m long, with a total investment of more than 64.4 billion VND, and will be implemented from 2025 to 2027.

Dinh Binh Bridge is currently the main bridge of Vinh Thanh district, connecting two residential areas on the east and west of the Kon River. The bridge was built and put into use in 1995, but after nearly 30 years it has seriously degraded, shaking violently every time a truck passes by.

Due to concerns about the bridge collapsing, the local authorities have recently placed signs prohibiting cars at both ends of the bridge. In the immediate future, the local authorities will develop plans to ensure safety and prevent people from traveling during flood and high water seasons. At the same time, they will divert traffic to Vinh Hiep Bridge, 1.5km away, to ensure safety.

According to the Department of Transport of Binh Dinh province, there are currently 27 weak, narrow-gauge bridges on provincial roads that need to be replaced to ensure traffic safety and synchronize operating loads. These bridges have been inspected and have load-limiting signs posted.
