On January 27, the People's Court of Loc Ha district, Ha Tinh province, tried a case of illegal trading, transporting, and storing of large quantities of firecrackers, sentencing 11 defendants to a total of 66 years and 3 months in prison.
According to the indictment of the District People's Procuracy, from March to July 2023, through social networks, Nguyen Tuan Anh was the person who connected to buy fireworks from a woman named Kim, whose Facebook name is "LyLy Kim" (identity and background unknown) to hide in his rented room in Ho Chi Minh City. After that, Anh, Vo Ngoc Sang and Tran Quoc Phuong resold them to others for profit.
The total weight of fireworks that Tuan Anh traded was nearly 652 kg (of which the amount sold with Vo Ngoc Sang and Tran Quoc Phuong was nearly 646 kg).

In addition, this group sold 6.1 kg to Nguyen Van Phuc (born in 1995) so that Phuc could resell it to others for profit. Phuc also introduced 7.8 kg to Nguyen Van Phuc (born in 1993) and 15.9 kg to Tran Huu Hoi for use.
Also originating from the illegal firecrackers sales line of a woman named Kim, at the end of July 2023, through social networks, Nguyen Van Diep contacted this person to buy firecrackers for his wife, Le Thi Minh Le, to resell to others for profit. The total weight of firecrackers that Diep and Le sold was 164.8 kg.
All of the above fireworks were transported by Nguyen Tan Lam and paid for. Also helping were Luong Phan Quoc Phong and Phan Trung Loi.
After the trial, the People's Court of Loc Ha district sentenced 11 defendants to 66 years and 3 months in prison. Specifically: Nguyen Tuan Anh to 11 years in prison, Vo Ngoc Sang to 10 years in prison, Tran Quoc Phuong to 9 years and 6 months in prison, Nguyen Van Diep to 8 years and 6 months in prison, Nguyen Tan Lam to 6 years in prison, Luong Phan Quoc Phong to 5 years and 6 months in prison, Phan Trung Loi to 5 years in prison, Nguyen Van Phuc (born in 1995) to 16 months in prison, Nguyen Tan Lam to 6 years in prison.
Tran Huu Hoi from 10 months in prison (suspended sentence, probation period of 20 months), Nguyen Van Phuc (born in 1993) from 8 months in prison (suspended sentence, probation period of 16 months).
