Although not fully equipped, but still according to plan, on the afternoon of June 6, head coach Philippe Troussier deployed the lesson plan for the first training session of the Vietnam national team and the Vietnam U23 team at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.

Due to the schedule of round 11 of V-League 2023, in the first training session, the French strategist only had 25 players called up to the list of the two teams this time. The remaining group of players will be present at the military base after June 7.

As for the three players currently playing abroad, Cong Phuong will join the national team on June 10, Van Toan will return home on June 12, while Quang Hai is already in Hanoi and will reunite with his teammates at tomorrow's training session. Another notable player is Vietnamese-American player Nguyen An Khanh, who will also join the U23 Vietnam team tonight.

Before entering the training session, yesterday and this morning, doctors also conducted medical examinations on all players when they gathered with the team. The results showed that defender Nguyen Phong Hong Duy was injured in the recent match between Nam Dinh and Hanoi Club and is expected to rest and recover for about 2 weeks.

Because the team had a short training session to compete in FIFA Days, coach Philippe Troussier decided to return Hong Duy to the club to continue treatment and not call up any other players.

The team will have 4 friendly matches in June.

According to the plan announced by coach Philippe Troussier, in the first training phase taking place from June 6 to June 13, he will combine the Vietnam national team and U23 Vietnam in the same training plan, then analyze and select about 26 players for the first international friendly match against the Hong Kong China team, taking place on June 15 at Lach Tray Stadium.

The group of players not selected for the match against Hong Kong China will continue to stay and train and will have two quality tests, respectively against the Hanoi Police Club on June 14 at the PVF Center and against the Hai Phong Club on June 17 at Lach Tray. After that, Mr. Troussier will select the best squad for the second international friendly match, against the Syrian team on June 20 at Thien Truong Stadium, Nam Dinh.
