“Since Intel Vietnam was established in 2006, we have invested and built a local supply network and now have 600 partners,” Dr. Naga Chandrasekaran, executive vice president, chief technology and operations officer, and general manager of Intel Foundry, shared at the Strategic Components Supplier Conference held on April 1 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Dr. Naga Chandrasekaran said that Intel's factory in Vietnam will reach the milestone of 4 billion products shipped next April - an important milestone affirming the key role of Intel's assembly and testing factory in Vietnam in Intel's global operations chain.

“We are committed to supporting the development of the semiconductor supply chain ecosystem in Vietnam. We recognize and appreciate the efforts of the Vietnamese Government in developing infrastructure, creating favorable conditions for the semiconductor industry to continue to expand and develop,” said Intel Foundry CEO.

The conference was attended by a series of leading domestic and international semiconductor component suppliers, as well as many other manufacturers in the industry. The event aimed to promote investment and innovation to contribute to positioning Vietnam as an important link in the high-tech sector.

“Gathering 40 suppliers, the Strategic Components Supplier Summit continues to affirm the commitment of Intel and the United States to build a strong local semiconductor supply chain. This is a prime example of how private-public cooperation can promote the growth of domestic supply chains and support Vietnam’s high-tech vision,” said Susan Burns, US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Dr. Naga Chandrasekaran: “Through this conference, we hope to create a platform to continue opening up new opportunities for suppliers, supporting human resource development, and promoting innovation, thereby developing the Vietnamese semiconductor ecosystem.”

Mr. Nguyen Ky Phung, head of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park Management Board, suggested: “Intel Products Vietnam Company continues to develop support programs, train high-quality human resources, successfully build a network connecting businesses in the supply chain, and strengthen cooperation with state management agencies to create favorable conditions for businesses to operate production and business.”

The US is strongly committed to supporting Vietnam's semiconductor and high-tech industries.

“One of the most prominent features of the relationship between the two countries is cooperation in the semiconductor and high-tech industries. The US has a strong commitment to supporting Vietnam’s semiconductor and high-tech development goals, and US businesses in Vietnam, such as Intel, clearly demonstrate this support,” emphasized Ms. Susan Burns, US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City.
