Opening of the 2025 Open Cycling Race "Journey in the Footsteps of the Buddha King"

On the morning of February 12, at the Provincial Sports Gymnasium, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Giang organized the 2025 Bac Giang Provincial Open Cycling Race "Journey in the footsteps of the Buddha King". Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Mai Son - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Provincial Culture - Tourism Week; representatives of the Vietnam Bicycle - Motor Sports Federation.

The Bac Giang Provincial Cycling Race is part of the 2025 Provincial Culture - Tourism Week with the theme "Journey in the footsteps of the Buddha King" to promote and introduce to the people, domestic and international tourists the image of the land, people, typical and unique cultural heritage values of Bac Giang province associated with the province's sports activities.

In the first time organized, the cycling race attracted nearly 200 male and female athletes from 14 clubs inside and outside the province to participate, competing in 4 events, of which 3 events are for male athletes in 3 age groups: 18-34 years old, 35-45 years old, 46-62 years old in the distance of 70km; 1 age group for female athletes from 18-60 years old in the distance of 50km.

At exactly 7:30 a.m., the male athletes departed from the Provincial Sports Stadium, followed Provincial Road 293 through Bac Giang City and the districts of Luc Nam, Luc Ngan, Son Dong and finished at Tay Yen Tu Spiritual - Ecological Tourism Area (Son Dong).

The female athletes started from Kham Lang intersection (Luc Nam), passed through Luc Ngan district and finished at Tay Yen Tu spiritual and ecological tourist area. Although the weather was light rain and the road was slippery, it did not dampen the athletes' determination to compete for the highest results.

Athletes are determined to achieve high results in their first participation in the Bac Giang Provincial Cycling Race.

At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded 4 sets of prizes to athletes with high achievements in 4 events; each set of prizes includes 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 1 third prize, 7 consolation prizes with a total value of up to 100 million VND. The closing ceremony and awarding ceremony for the winning athletes will take place after the athletes complete the race at Tay Yen Tu Spiritual - Ecological Tourism Area , Son Dong District./.
