Speaking at the workshop, journalist Nguyen Van Chuong - Deputy Editor-in-Chief in charge of Vietnam Beverage Magazine said that Vietnam's Beer - Alcohol - Beverage industry is a technical economic sector that makes important contributions to the country's socio -economic development, each year directly and indirectly creating jobs for millions of workers, meeting domestic consumption and export needs.

Beverages in general, including beer, wine, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages in particular, are products that serve daily consumption needs, are both essential and closely associated with cultural characteristics. Since the renovation and integration, the economy has grown, people's lives have improved, tourists and foreign investors to Vietnam have increased, the beverage industry has developed strongly, with branded and diverse products, pushing back smuggled goods and contributing to export value, with a large total production value, bringing many contributions to the economy and society.

Journalist Nguyen Van Chuong emphasized that every year, businesses in the industry always pay attention to community activities and sustainable development. Prioritizing and paying attention to allocating a significant portion of the budget to actively participate in sustainable development activities according to the criteria of Environment - Society and Transparent Governance (ESG). Through green production campaigns, raising social awareness, supporting social security issues, environmental protection and transparent reporting, following the world's trends and Vietnam's commitments.

At the workshop, delegates exchanged and discussed the current production and business situation of the Beverage Industry: Historian Duong Trung Quoc shared interesting information about the history of drinking culture in Vietnam and the world; Mr. Nguyen Van Viet - Chairman of the Vietnam Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Association discussed the position and role of the current Vietnamese Beverage Industry.

In addition, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Toan Thang, former Director of the Institute of Cultural Development, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, shared about the development of drinking culture in our country today, viewed from the role of the Vietnamese Beverage Industry or the topic of beer consumption in Vietnam today viewed from a cultural perspective by Mr. Do Minh Cuong, Deputy Director of the Institute of Business Culture, Cultural Development Association.

Talking about “Drinking culture with communication work”, journalist Ho Quang Loi – Former Permanent Vice President of Vietnam Journalists Association said that in recent times, Vietnam Beverage Magazine has been a very useful information channel and media for businesses and the public in the beverage industry. Through Vietnam Beverage Magazine, the public has a more correct, deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the Vietnamese beverage industry.

Vietnam Beverage Magazine has helped the social community see more clearly the role and worthy contribution of the beverage industry to economic, social and cultural life. Through the Magazine, the public sees the difficulties and obstacles that businesses in the industry are facing in terms of mechanisms, policies...

In order for press and media agencies to more effectively promote the use of beverages, contributing to raising consumers' awareness of how to use beverages in a cultured and civilized manner, journalist Ho Quang Loi affirmed: "The press needs to actively promote to contribute to the cultural activities of drinking and responsible drinking. The press needs to enhance its critical role in building policy mechanisms of sectors and levels for the beer and alcohol industry, reviewing whether the state's policies are timely and adequate to contribute to promoting the development of the beverage industry. The press needs to have suggestions and explanations to contribute to adjusting the policies for the development of the beverage industry to suit the economy in general, including the Vietnamese beverage industry in particular."

Receiving opinions at the workshop, journalist Nguyen Van Chuong said that the delegates shared and conveyed a lot of useful and meaningful information about beverage culture and responsibility to the community, information about the activities of the beverage industry from the past to the present was brought up for discussion.

The workshop contributed to spreading the affirmation of the responsibility of beverage production enterprises to the community with social security, environmental protection, and sustainable development. At the same time, it evoked the drinking culture in the regions, promoted responsible drinking, and did not abuse alcoholic beverages... for sustainable development.
