Female director prosecuted for tax evasion

On May 20, the Investigation Police Agency of Dong Nai Province Police issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Nguyen Thi Nhung (51 years old, Director of Th. M. Company, residing in Long Khanh City) for tax evasion.

According to the investigation records, on March 30, 2015, the company of which Ms. Nhung is the director was leased by the People's Committee of Dong Nai province land plot number 14, number 15, map sheet number 33, address in Buu Hoa ward, Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province.

The land lease term is 50 years, the form of land lease payment is annual payment. The total area is more than 30,000 m2 for investment in eco -tourism sites.

After being allocated the land, Ms. Nhung's company did not implement any items of the investment project, and at the same time requested to change the form of land rental payment from annual payment to one-time payment and was approved by the People's Committee of Dong Nai province.

On April 3, 2018, the above company signed a contract to transfer land use rights to a company with Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Huyen as general director, located in Ho Chi Minh City.

Through professional measures, Dong Nai Provincial Police determined that Ms. Nhung's company had evaded corporate income tax of more than 3.5 billion VND.

The case is being further investigated and strictly handled by the Investigation Police Agency of Dong Nai Province Police according to the provisions of law.
