Compared to the peach blossom villages of Nhat Tan and Phu Thuong, La Ca peach blossom village is less affected by floods and inundation due to its higher location. A lush green color appears promising a bountiful harvest this Lunar New Year.

On the morning of September 25, people in La Ca peach village (Duong Noi, Hanoi ) were busy pruning leaves to shape the trees. They said that although this area was flooded, it was not significant. "Only 5% of the peach area was damaged, the rest was still growing well," said Mr. Thanh and many La Ca residents.

Currently, the area of La Ca peach village is decreasing due to the speed of urbanization, but many peach growers are still determined to stay on the land to preserve the long-standing traditional profession.

"Some peach gardens were flooded 20 to 30 centimeters deep, but this area is in the west of Hanoi so it is higher than other places. After we saw the flooding, we used pumps to drain the water," said Mr. Sinh, a peach gardener here.

Many peach growers shared that if the water is left for more than 2 days, the roots will be completely damaged, especially for young trees. Therefore, La Ca peach growers have been draining water day and night after storm No. 3 swept through.

At this time, peach growers in La Ca are pruning the leaves to shape the trees. In addition, some gardens have begun "castrating peach trees", which is a necessary step before stripping the leaves and allowing the trees to flower.

Many peach gardens cover a series of drains with plastic to prevent water from affecting the roots of the peach trees.

Mr. Thanh's family planted hundreds of peach trees in La Ca. He said that because they were supported and the flooding was not deep, nearly 100% of his peach trees were "safe and sound".

The number of peach trees damaged by "flooding" in La Ca is only about 5%.

Peach growers in La Ca are "castrating peaches". This person said that this year's peaches will hardly be as beautiful as previous years due to the harsh weather, so the price of peaches at the end of the year will be very high.

Anh Tu, a peach grower with more than 15 years of experience in La Ca, is spraying chemicals and preparations to limit pests and inhibit the growth of peach tops, in order to shape them.

The green, even peach trees in La Ca are different from other places.

Many peach gardens in Hanoi and the northern provinces were damaged, even wiped out, but in La Ca, peach trees still grow green, promising a bumper year.
