On the afternoon of July 22, leaders of Can Tho City People's Committee had a working session with VSIP Can Tho Joint Stock Company to remove difficulties for the VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park project.

A representative of VSIP Can Tho Joint Stock Company said that the total progress of implementing infrastructure items of VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park project has reached about 60%, and the site is expected to be handed over to secondary investors in the third quarter of 2025.

Four enterprises have committed to investing in VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park, of which Bestway Company with a total investment capital of 300 million USD has officially signed and launched the project in April 2025 on an area of 28.6 hectares, expected to build the factory in August and come into operation in July 2026.

The remaining 3 enterprises with a total investment capital of 100 million USD are ready to sign as soon as VSIP Can Tho Joint Stock Company is granted a land use right certificate.

According to the representative of VSIP Can Tho Joint Stock Company, in order to reduce the pressure of paying land rent at one time of about 1,163 billion VND, the enterprise proposed that the People's Committee of Can Tho City soon approve the adjustment of the form of land use from paying land rent at one time for the entire lease term to paying land rent annually. At the same time, complete the procedures for granting land use right certificates in August 2025.

VSIP Can Tho Joint Stock Company also proposed that the city support Bestway Company in completing the dossier and issuing the investment registration certificate, and support other secondary investors.

Mr. Tran Van Lau - Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee - said that the city is always interested in removing difficulties for businesses to speed up the progress of VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park project.

Mr. Lau requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to advise the City People's Committee to soon adjust the decision from the form of land use with one-time land rent payment for the entire lease term to the form of land lease with annual land rent payment, and at the same time issue land use right certificates in August.

For 132 households that have received compensation but have not yet been handed over land because they do not have resettlement land, Mr. Lau requested to develop a temporary resettlement plan, promptly approve resettlement land prices, announce prices and hand over land to households to build houses.

VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park has an area of 293.7 hectares, with a total investment of over VND 3,717 billion. When the project is completed, it is expected to create jobs for 20,000 - 30,000 local workers and those from neighboring provinces.
