Clarifying the origin of strange candy that sent students to the hospital

On November 26, according to information from the People's Committee of Van Don District, after discovering the incident of 5 students eating strange candy and having to be hospitalized, the authorities conducted tests and the results showed that all the students were negative for drugs.

In addition, the authorities of Van Don district have sent samples of the strange candy for examination; at the same time, assigned the market management force to clarify the origin of the candy.

Verification by the authorities showed that the students bought the above candy at a grocery store in Cai Rong Town (Van Don District). Previously, the store owner bought the goods from a source in Cam Pha City ( Quang Ninh ).

Immediately afterwards, all the candy was confiscated and it was found that the candy was packaged in a blue plastic bag with Chinese characters printed on the outside and no Vietnamese subtitles.

Notably, according to many people's feedback, this type of candy is sold a lot at school gates.

As Thanh Nien reported, at 10am on November 25, Van Don District Medical Center admitted 5 students with symptoms of nausea, chest tightness, shortness of breath, and dizziness. The students said they had eaten strange candy brought by their friends. In addition, through inspection by the authorities, more than 120 students had eaten this candy.
