Tempered glass installation in the central area of Thai Hoa Palace

Thai Hoa Palace is equipped with a fence, 24/7 security guards and a surveillance camera system, but because the fence was not high enough and the security staff was thin, an incident occurred on May 24 when the Nguyen Dynasty throne was broken.

This is to strengthen the protection of two national treasures: the Nguyen Dynasty Throne (which was broken by a tourist on May 24 as reported by SGGP Newspaper) and the pair of dragon statues from the Thieu Tri period, along with more than 60 other rare artifacts of the Nguyen Dynasty currently on display for visitors here.

Among dozens of palaces in the Imperial City (also known as Dai Noi) - Hue Citadel, Thai Hoa Palace is the largest, most beautiful palace, occupying the most solemn position.

Thai Hoa Palace is equipped with fences, 24/7 security guards and a surveillance camera system, but because the fence was not high enough and the security staff was thin, an incident occurred where the Nguyen Dynasty throne was broken.

Mr. Le Cong Son, Deputy Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, said that the installation of tempered glass around the central area of Thai Hoa Palace aims to enhance the protection of artifacts, especially two national treasures.

The Hue Monuments Conservation Center is also implementing solutions to enhance the visitor experience. Accordingly, the tour route will be adjusted to ensure both the safety of the artifacts and the convenience of visitors. The tempered glass system helps to isolate visitors from the artifacts while still ensuring good visibility.
