Severe heat in the North and Central regions may last until June 22

(HNMO) - On June 18 and 19, Hanoi and the provinces and cities in the North and Central regions will continue to experience heat waves, severe heat waves, with temperatures in some places exceeding 39 degrees Celsius. This heat wave may last until June 22.

The Northern Delta Hydrometeorological Station said that this afternoon (June 17), Hanoi experienced widespread heat; the temperature recorded at 1 p.m. at Lang Meteorological Station was 36 degrees Celsius, Hoai Duc and Ba Vi were 35.6 degrees Celsius, Son Tay was 35.2 degrees Celsius, Ha Dong was 35 degrees Celsius...

Due to the influence of the developing and expanding low pressure area in the West, tomorrow (June 18), Hanoi will continue to experience hot weather, with some areas experiencing severe heat; the highest temperature in the central and western areas of the city will be 36-38 degrees Celsius, and in the North and South 35-37 degrees Celsius.

On June 19, the heat wave in Hanoi continued to increase. The time of heat wave, with temperatures higher than 35 degrees Celsius, was from 12:00 to 16:00.

In the remaining provinces and cities of the North, from June 18 to 19, it will be hot, with some places experiencing severe heat; the highest temperature will be 35-38 degrees Celsius, with some places experiencing higher than 38 degrees Celsius.

Provinces and cities from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen are hot and extremely hot, with some places experiencing extremely hot weather; the highest temperature is commonly 36-38 degrees Celsius, with some places experiencing higher than 39 degrees Celsius.

The Hydrometeorological Agency warned that this heat wave in the North could last until June 22. During the hot days, the North is likely to experience thunderstorms with tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind in the late afternoon.
