US promotes women's health research

Speaking at the annual meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative, Jill Biden announced that the money will be used to research arthritis, chronic fatigue and women's heart health.

The US Department of Defense 's statement highlighted the importance of the investment in meeting the urgent needs of approximately 230,000 active duty women, 2 million retired women and their family members.

Compared with men, this population group has twice the rate of hematological, urinary, endocrine, nutritional and immune diseases.

This is also seen as an effort by the Democratic Party to attract support from female voters in the US presidential election in November this year.
