Particularly on the Vietnam - Cambodia waterway transport route, since the implementation of the Agreement, the two countries have processed procedures for nearly 110,000 vehicles, more than 551,000 crew members, and more than 60 million tons of goods. Of which, more than 3.3 million TEUs and nearly 2.2 million passengers passed through. Of which, container cargo will reach about 490,000 TEUs in 2024, an increase of 23% compared to 2023.

According to the Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration, this result was achieved thanks to a series of synchronous solutions to facilitate water transport such as consulting, developing legal documents and regulations to submit to competent authorities for decision on reducing business conditions; reducing and simplifying administrative procedures; implementing one-stop and one-stop-shop regimes...

Regularly collect opinions from businesses and associations on difficulties and obstacles in the process of inland waterway transport; organize business dialogue conferences to find solutions.

It is known that the Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration also continues to complete the contents of the project of the model waterway transport route ICD Que Vo - to Hai Phong seaport; build a pilot project of the inland waterway transport route with VR-SI level operating on the route from Van Uc estuary - Lach Huyen seaport and the route from Cua Tieu - Cai Mep - Thi Vai seaport, reporting to the Ministry of Transport for consideration and approval.

Regarding waterway transport activities under the Agreement between Vietnam and Cambodia, the Department has compiled the remaining contents and problems and sent them to the Ministries and Provincial People's Committees for consideration and resolution in order to create more favorable conditions for waterway transport activities between the two countries.
