Mr. Nguyen Ba Long, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau , acknowledged the efforts of the team of teachers and primary education managers.
Despite many difficulties after the province's merger, Ca Mau Secondary Education continues to maintain its discipline, gradually innovates and achieves many outstanding results.
In the 2024-2025 school year , Ca Mau primary education will maintain a stable scale with 313 primary schools, 15 inter-level schools, 5,528 classes and 164,063 students. The effective arrangement of the school network helps focus investment to improve quality.
The rate of students completing primary school reached 98.32%, a slight increase compared to the previous year; 5th graders completed the program at 99.86%. The rate of mobilizing 6-year-old children to enter 1st grade and 6-10-year-old students to go to school reached 99.99%, demonstrating the concern of the whole society. The rate of students studying 2 sessions/day remained stable at over 70%.

To achieve the above achievements, the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau has implemented many synchronous solutions. The whole province has 4,822 solid classrooms, reaching 1.12 rooms/class, ensuring 2 sessions/day of teaching according to the new program. The teaching staff consists of 8,413 people, an average of 1.52 teachers/class, fully trained in 9 modules to improve professional capacity.
The 2018 General Education Program is flexibly implemented by schools, combining experiential, local and STEM education, helping students become interested and apply creative knowledge into practice.
First graders are excited to learn Math according to the 2018 General Education Program.
In the 2024-2025 school year, digital transformation is the highlight of Ca Mau primary education. 100% of teachers use electronic gradebooks, nearly 96% use electronic records. 100% of schools implement student assessment via online software, reducing bookkeeping, improving management and assessment transparency.
Schools also actively exploit digital learning materials and apply teaching software, improving the quality of teaching and professional activities.
Creative experiential activities are widely replicated, helping students develop comprehensively.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Ba Long, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau acknowledged the efforts of the team of teachers and managers of the primary school sector. The Deputy Director of the Department emphasized that the new school year needs to continue to improve the quality of comprehensive education, focus on effectively implementing the 5th grade program, consolidate teaching 2 sessions/day, especially in remote areas, ethnic minority areas, and enhance Vietnamese language to ensure equitable access to education.

He also noted that localities should strengthen consultation, arrange enough teachers, invest in facilities for satellite schools, strengthen professional inspections, ensure school safety and prepare well for external assessment and quality inspection.
With the theme of the 2025-2026 school year being “Proactive – Creative – Responsible – Safe – Effective”, the Ca Mau Secondary Education sector aims to promote innovation and flexibility in teaching and learning, improve quality to suit local conditions, and contribute to the successful implementation of key tasks in the new period.
