Newcastle advised to sell Isak soon

Newcastle legend Alan Shearer has urged the club to find a solution to Alexander Isak's current situation.

Isak had an impressive 2024/25 season with 21 goals in the Premier League.

Shearer believes Newcastle should sell Isak and reinvest to strengthen the squad after a turbulent summer transfer window: "I want Alexander Isak to leave now. That way you get a big chunk of money, and you can bring in new players to help the club move forward."

"As I said, no individual is bigger than the collective. If he doesn't want to be at Newcastle, fine, collect the transfer fee and you let him go, thanks a lot for the memories, go," Shearer shared in The Times .

Isak has expressed his desire to leave St James' Park, but has yet to achieve his wish. According to Fichajes , Newcastle's board value Isak at 175 million euros and insist they will not accept any lower figure.

This tough move did not please Liverpool and further aggravated the situation when Isak himself expressed his desire to leave. The 24-year-old striker only wanted to join Liverpool and would not accept any other destination.

He believes the Merseyside club is the ideal step in his career, and has even publicly skipped training, a move that has angered both fans and teammates at St James' Park.

However, Isak returned to training earlier this week. His relationship with the rest of the squad has deteriorated after the striker expressed his intention to leave. Isak's actions have caused division within the squad. Shearer believes Newcastle should sell Isak if he no longer wants to stay, to avoid affecting the squad and club morale.
