Russia deploys troops, warships and equipment, conducts a series of exercises

On June 5, the Russian military began conducting exercises in the Baltic Sea, Kaliningrad, the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk.

The press service of the Russian Baltic Fleet announced: "According to the training plan from June 5 to 15, the Fleet units have begun conducting combat exercises in the Baltic Sea and at combat training grounds in the Kaliningrad region, under the direction of the Commander of the Baltic Fleet, Vice Admiral Vladimir Vorobyov."

About 40 ships, more than 3,500 soldiers, more than 500 units of equipment, 40 warships and 25 planes and helicopters participated in this exercise.

Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry said that forces of the country's Pacific Fleet have begun combat exercises in the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk until June 20.

"More than 60 warships and support vessels, about 35 naval vessels, aircraft, coastal forces and more than 11,000 servicemen are participating in the Pacific Fleet exercise," the ministry's Telegram message said.

According to the announcement, naval strike groups, along with naval aviation, will train in searching for and tracking enemy submarines, and conduct combat training exercises against surface and air targets.
