Lap An lagoon, also known as An Cu lagoon, An Cu lagoon or Lang Co lagoon, winds through the foot of Phu Gia pass, located in Lang Co town, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province, about 50 km from Hue city center. The scenery is like a watercolor painting, on one side is the majestic Bach Ma mountain range, on the other side is the lagoon like a giant mirror reflecting the color of the mountains and forests, the vast sky.

Lap An lagoon has its own charm in each season, the most beautiful from March to June. This is the sunny season, it can be quite hot, but in return the weather is favorable for tourists to sightsee and take pictures. From 5am to 6:30am is the ideal time to watch the sunrise on the lagoon. The first rays of early sunlight penetrate the white clouds, winding around the Bach Ma mountain range in the distance, bringing out the vitality of a new day.

If you cannot get to Lap An lagoon early in the morning to catch the sunrise, visitors should choose the evening to watch the sun gradually set over Bach Ma mountain range.

Lap An lagoon is probably busiest during the oyster harvest season from February to March of the lunar calendar, when from dawn, fishermen are laughing, removing oysters, washing oysters and hurriedly carrying oysters to shore. Don’t forget to enjoy oyster specialties at the restaurants along the shore, and buy a few bottles of oyster sauce as gifts.
