On the first day of implementing the new model after streamlining, customs received more than 20.3 thousand declarations.

(NLDO) - On March 16, the Customs Department ( Ministry of Finance ) informed about the results of the first day of implementation of the new organizational model.

Implementing the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus, the customs sector is organized and operates at 3 levels: Customs Department, Regional Customs Branch, and border gate/outside border gate customs.

From March 15, the Customs Department officially deployed a new organizational model throughout the customs system and reconfigured the information technology system according to the new customs organization model.

Customs units arrange officers and civil servants to be on duty and coordinate with the Information Technology Department during the system conversion process from 11pm on March 14 to the end of March 16. Arrange all officers and civil servants in the unit to work normally on Saturday and Sunday (March 15 and 16) to guide and resolve difficulties and problems of customs officers and civil servants and businesses related to the use of the system.

The Customs Department said that on March 15, import-export turnover reached 1.05 billion USD, with over 20.3 thousand declarations.

During the implementation of the information technology system according to the new customs organization model, the Customs Department has ensured that customs procedures for exported and imported goods, means of transport for entry, exit and transit are handled smoothly and without interruption, ensuring fast customs clearance of goods.

On the very first day, the Customs Department directed the border gate/outside border gate customs to regularly review and assign civil servants to immediately process records on the system. Records must be processed within the day, not to let records expire according to regulations, and not to let records remain in the system without processing.

For units that merge or cease operations, the Customs Department has directed to urgently review and complete customs procedures for remaining declarations that have not been cleared on the system.

The Customs Department said it is directing units to focus on reforming administrative procedures, striving to achieve the target of reducing at least 30% of administrative procedure processing time, reducing at least 30% of administrative procedure implementation costs, and abolishing at least 30% of unnecessary business conditions by 2025. Along with that, it is necessary to carry out procedures related to enterprises in the electronic environment, ensuring smoothness, continuity, and efficiency.
