Nghe An: Communes in the lower Lam River proactively prevent and control floods in areas prone to deep flooding

Faced with the complicated developments of floods caused by storm No. 3, localities downstream of the Lam River are urgently implementing flood prevention plans, especially in areas outside the dike, which are prone to deep flooding when floods from upstream come. The top priority is to protect people's lives and property.

In Lam Thanh commune (formerly Hung Nguyen district), even before storm No. 3 made landfall, the Commune Military Command held a meeting to deploy a flood response plan. Mr. Nguyen Van Hien - Deputy Commander of Lam Thanh Commune Military Command said: "We have deployed forces to grasp the situation in the hamlets, especially the hamlets outside the dike along the Lam River.
