The 38-year-old is still Sinner and Alcaraz's biggest rival.

(NLDO) - Although 38 years old, Djokovic still shows his class and desire, becoming the most formidable opponent of the next generation led by Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.

Djokovic has not played a Grand Slam final since last year's Wimbledon final. However, the Serbian is still in the top three of the ATP Race to Turin, behind Alcaraz and Sinner.

Notably, Djokovic is still above young players like Alexander Zverev or Jack Draper, even though he only won one ATP 250 title in 2025. This achievement is largely thanks to his reaching the Masters 1000 final in Miami and continuously reaching deep in Grand Slam tournaments, on par with his juniors Alcaraz and Sinner.

Djokovic's tenacity is even more impressive when he faces opponents 10-15 years younger than him. At 38, he still maintains his consistent form, courage and top-level experience, helping the Serbian continue to participate in important tournaments from now until the end of the season.

Djokovic’s season began with a semifinal appearance at the Australian Open, where he beat Alcaraz despite a foot injury before retiring in the first set against Alexander Zverev. He then reached the final of the Miami Open, where he lost 6-7, 6-7 to Jakub Mensik and missed out on a chance to win his 100th ATP title.

Djokovic finally claimed his 100th ATP title in May, beating Hubert Hurkacz in the Geneva final. He followed that up by becoming the oldest player to reach the semi-finals at Roland Garros since 1968, before losing to Sinner in three sets.

The two players met again in the Wimbledon semi-finals, Djokovic's 14th appearance at the All England Club. Despite leading 3-0 in the third set, Djokovic was defeated 3-6, 3-6, 4-6 by Sinner.

Djokovic is currently on vacation with his family in Montenegro and is likely to skip the Toronto Masters. However, fans can expect him to return to Cincinnati and the US Open, continuing to affirm his status as a living legend.
