Transport workers donate more than 5 billion VND to people affected by storms and floods

According to information from the Vietnam Transport Trade Union, as of September 30, the Vietnam Transport Trade Union Charity Fund has received more than 5.4 billion VND from contributions and support from agencies, units, businesses and individuals inside and outside the transport sector to people affected by storms and floods.

Previously, responding to the call of General Secretary and President To Lam, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang, the Vietnam Transport Trade Union called on cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers in the entire industry to fulfill their tasks well during the storm and flood, while promoting the spirit of solidarity, "mutual love and support", "sharing food and clothes" with people across the country to join hands to support compatriots affected by storms and floods.

Vietnam Transport Trade Union proposes that the time to receive support is until October 31, 2024. General mobilization level: Cadres, civil servants, public employees, employees, and those receiving salaries from the State budget, each person should contribute one day's salary or more, workers should contribute one day's income.

On the afternoon of September 13, leaders of the Ministry of Transport and the Vietnam Transport Trade Union presented 4 billion VND to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to promptly share with the people.

The Vietnam Transport Trade Union said that the remaining amount will be transferred by the Vietnam Transport Trade Union Charity Fund to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front according to regulations.

Vietnam Transport Trade Union Charity Fund continues to receive contributions and support from units and individuals until October 31, 2024.
