Car crashes into motorbike in a puzzling situation

Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí14/03/2025

(Dan Tri) - A Ford EcoSport driven by a woman crashed into a motorbike at a three-way intersection in a traffic situation that was not too crowded, so it was quite confusing.

The incident occurred on March 13 at the intersection of Dang Thuc Vinh Street, To Ky Street and Quang Trung Street, Thoi Tam Thon Commune, Hoc Mon District, Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the image recorded by the dashcam of the car behind, the motorbike was standing still at the beginning of the road, in the middle of the intersection when the car approached. It was thought that the driver could easily see it and swerve to the left to avoid it, but it seems that the driver misjudged the situation, or for some reason could not see the motorbike clearly, leading to the collision.

The seemingly simple traffic situation resulted in a collision, creating multi-dimensional debate when the video was shared on social networks.

Some opinions say that the car moved from a sunny place to a shady place so the driver could not see the motorbike, because his eyes had not adjusted and were temporarily dazzled. This is similar to when we stand in the sun for a few minutes and then step into a shady place and get dizzy. In addition, the motorbike stopped at that position in the opposite direction of the road.

"Not to mention that the car's windshield also reflects light diagonally on the dashboard, so the part below the windshield will be very difficult to see," commented Facebook account Vu Hoang.

Refuting this opinion, nick Manh Nghia commented: "Black dashboards are not reflective; if they are, it's because people keep putting books, newspapers, files, miscellaneous items... on them and they get reflected. Any car with glare should have its glass replaced. My car has never had glare for years."

Meanwhile, a member named Minh Tuan commented: "If the sun shines directly into the face, the driver should wear glasses and use a sun visor. Driving without seeing the road is too dangerous. You have to find a way to fix it yourself, you can't blame others like that."

"The motorbike stopped on the opposite side like that, then the car driver was dazzled or lost focus, did not observe carefully and crashed. In reality, there are many people riding motorbikes like that, coming later but often weaving to park on top, parking across the line. When seeing another car turning from afar, they should avoid it, but no, either they just stand there, assuming the car will dodge on its own; or if the car does not dodge, they will approach close and ignore it for a while, only when they see the car driver being stubborn will they start to dodge," commented Anh Quan.
