Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy was appointed as Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Training.

Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son has just signed a decision to transfer and appoint Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy to the position of Director of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Education and Training), the decision takes effect from the date of signing (March 3).

Before being transferred and appointed, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy was Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training).

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy was born in 1975, graduated from Foreign Trade University in 1997, graduated with a master's degree from the Vietnam - Netherlands Development Economics Master's Program in 1999. She then received a master's degree in financial management in the Netherlands in 2004, and a doctorate in finance in the Netherlands in 2008. She was appointed to the position of associate professor in 2012.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy has 20 years of experience as a lecturer at Foreign Trade University before taking on management positions such as: Head of the Faculty of Business Administration, Vice Principal. In 2019, she was appointed Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education and Acting Director of the Department of Higher Education in 2020.

Ms. Thuy has many years of working and contributing in the field of university education, many years of experience in university management and administration. During her time working at Foreign Trade University, she conducted many different scientific works, with many international publications.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy has been ranked by REPEC as one of the top economists in Vietnam for many years; is the head of many programs and research topics at all levels, and the director of international research projects. She is also a member of the scientific council of the economics sector of the NAFOSTED Foundation.

Recently, according to Decree No. 37/2025/ND-CP regulating the organizational structure of the Ministry of Education and Training, the ministry has reduced the number of units from 23 to 18. Of which, the Department of International Cooperation is one of the public service units, serving the state management function of the ministry.
