On February 4, social media appeared images of candy dumped into a "mountain" in a landfill in La Phu Industrial Park (La Phu commune, Hoai Duc district, Hanoi).
The images show that the candies dumped in the landfill are of many different types, most of them still in their original boxes. Notably, many of the biscuits are still in their original boxes, with both Vietnamese and Chinese characters printed on the outside of the boxes.
Regarding the above information, on February 5, Mr. Nguyen Trung Thuan - Vice Chairman of Hoai Duc District People's Committee - said that Hoai Duc District People's Committee has requested La Phu commune and related units to verify who dumped the above candy into the landfill as well as trace the origin of the above candy.
Mr. Thuan said that the district government's viewpoint is to go to the above incident and thoroughly handle any violations. The district has also directed the local government to quickly transport the candy dumped at the above site to the designated gathering place.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online on the evening of February 5, a leader of the People's Committee of La Phu commune (Hoai Duc, Hanoi) said that regarding the appearance of a "mountain" of candy in the landfill in the commune, the local government initially took note and reported to relevant units for inspection and handling.
"Hoai Duc District People's Committee has also issued a document directing the commune to investigate the matter. We are verifying and will report when there is an official conclusion," the above leader added.
La Phu Commune (Hoai Duc, Hanoi) is one of the famous craft villages in the North specializing in the production and trading of confectionery.
