Ready to fight in any situation

The 29th Signal Regiment was established on the basis of merging the 29th Battalion (General Staff of the 3rd Corps) and the 26th Signal Battalion (General Staff of the 4th Corps). After its establishment, the Regiment proactively overcame difficulties, ensuring smooth communication to serve its duty and combat readiness.

Lieutenant Colonel Vu Van Ha, Commander of the 29th Information Regiment, said: Through inspection, in the first 6 months of 2025, the unit had 100% of subjects achieving good and excellent results, with the information specialty achieving excellent results. We determined that good training and mobile information units met the elite criteria, ready to respond to all assigned situations. Up to now, the unit has ensured safety in training; officers and soldiers are mentally secure. The unit is also assessed to have ensured good logistics and technical work, with a healthy military ratio of 99.2%. At the end of the first 6 months of the year, the unit has completed the assigned tasks, contributing to building a "sleek, compact, and strong" Corps.

Meanwhile, at the 4th Artillery Regiment (10th Division), modern weapons have been put into training and use. These are weapons with strong firepower and high mobility, contributing to enhancing the overall strength of the unit in coordinated combat.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Thuy, Deputy Regiment Commander and Chief of Staff of the 4th Artillery Regiment, said: “The key factor to enhance combat strength is to promote collective intelligence, build a team of cadres with courage, qualifications and exemplary spirit. At the same time, the Regiment also focuses on political and ideological education, creating a foundation for unity of will and action throughout the unit.”

In addition to artillery, infantry units of the 34th Corps are also equipped with the STV-380 rifle, a modern weapon produced in Vietnam, replacing the AK submachine gun. The STV-380 has a lightweight design, high accuracy, and can integrate the FBL40 grenade launcher. This allows troops to be more mobile, while increasing firepower without having to carry auxiliary weapons such as the M79.

Lieutenant Colonel Han Van Tu, Deputy Commander of the 28th Infantry Regiment (10th Division), shared: “We identify quality training as a breakthrough to improve combat capabilities. Selecting people to do it first, making it a model and then expanding it throughout the unit is the way to improve sustainable efficiency.”

Worthy of being a strategic mobile force

With the spirit of "refined, compact, strong", the 34th Corps is gradually affirming its role as the leading strategic mobile force of the Vietnam People's Army.

On the training grounds of the units under the 34th Corps, there is not only the roar of engines but also the decisive and skillful commands and training movements of the soldiers. The training contents are deployed systematically and synchronously, focusing on practice, focusing on night and long-term training, suitable for terrain conditions and specific combat plans. Each battery, group, and crew is trained closely following actual tasks to improve mobility and capture targets quickly, neatly, and effectively.

Colonel Nguyen Dai Hung, Brigade Commander of the 273rd Tank Brigade, said: "We inspect and evaluate closely, realistically, classify the training quality of each topic and subject, and organize competitions and sports events to further improve the training quality and combat readiness of officers and soldiers in the unit".

Speaking to reporters, Lieutenant General Dao Tuan Anh, Commander of the 34th Corps, affirmed that the Corps sets the highest requirements for training. These are realistic training, mastering and effectively exploiting modern weapons and technical equipment; proactively reviewing plans, building a solid battle formation, maintaining the highest state of combat readiness, and avoiding being passive or surprised in any situation. In addition, logistics, engineering, digital transformation, technology exploitation and military scientific research are promoted to create breakthroughs in management, command and training.
