Quang Ngai GRDP growth 11.51%, leading the country after merger

In the first six months of 2025, Quang Ngai province (new) recorded a GRDP growth rate of 11.51%, rising to the top of the country. The information was presented at the meeting of the Provincial People's Council, where solutions for socio-economic development after the merger were proposed.

On the morning of July 14, the 13th People's Council of Quang Ngai province, term 2021-2026, held a regular mid-year meeting. This is the first regular meeting after Quang Ngai province completed the merger of provincial-level administrative units with Kon Tum province (old).

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuy, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Ngai province, said that the new apparatus has gradually stabilized. The meeting is of great significance, demonstrating high political determination in concretizing the goals after the administrative unit reorganization.

According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first 6 months of the year is estimated at nearly 42 trillion VND, up 11.51% over the same period last year. This growth rate has brought Quang Ngai to the leading position in the country (after consolidation). The outstanding contribution to this result is the industrial - construction sector with an increase of 21.38%. In addition, the province's public investment disbursement reached 37%, higher than the national average.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, emphasized that the province must dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility and dare to break through. Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van requested that all levels and sectors must take specific and substantial actions to bring about clear changes.

Regarding the tasks for the last 6 months of the year, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van suggested continuing to consistently implement the policy of the government accompanying businesses. The Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee directed: "The Provincial People's Committee continues to direct the removal of difficulties and obstacles, especially investment policies, decisions related to projects that are behind schedule and not implemented, we must thoroughly resolve them, otherwise it will take years to do so, wasting land resources".

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council will consider and give opinions on 12 proposals and draft resolutions. These contents are related to the socio-economic development plan, adjustment of public investment capital and other important policies.
