On July 20, Hanoi FC announced the signing of central defender Adriel Tadeu Ferreira da Silva. This is Hanoi's first new player in the 2025-2026 season after the capital team parted ways with Joal Pedro and Kyle Colona.

Adriel da Silva was born in 1997 in Brazil, is 1m84 tall, and can play well in 3 positions of left, right and middle defender in the defense. He helped Austria Lustenau Club win the Second League (Austrian Second Division) in the 2021-2022 season and played 1 season in the National Championship of this country in the following season.

In the 2023-2024 season, Adriel moved down to the Austrian Second Division to join Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz Club, playing for 2 more seasons here before agreeing to join Hanoi Club.

"For me, playing in a foreign country is not too big of a problem. I used to play in Japan, returned to Brazil, then to Austria, and now Vietnam. I believe I will quickly adapt to the environment and playing style here," Adriel da Silva shared on the Hanoi Club homepage.

If he performs well and scores points with the coaching staff, Adriel will take a starting position in Hanoi's all-domestic defense, which was filled by Nguyen Thanh Chung, Do Duy Manh and Dao Van Nam last season.

With the recruitment of new player Adriel da Silva, the capital team currently has 4 foreign players, but still has plans to buy more "Westerners" to increase competitiveness and is expected to announce in the near future. Before Adriel, the 3 current foreign players of Hanoi are Hendrio da Silva, Daniel Passira and Luca Bobicanec.

"Hanoi FC is an ambitious team, always aiming for the championship and I like that," Adriel shared.

Hanoi FC ended the 2024-2025 V-League season as runners-up. This is the third consecutive season since the 2022 season that the most traditional team in the national championship (with 6 championships) has not been able to win the championship.

In the last 3 seasons, the strong rise of new forces such as Hanoi Police Club and Nam Dinh Blue Steel has ended the monopoly of Hanoi team.
