On the afternoon of September 12, Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VTV9) - Vietnam Television Station organized the launch of the TV program "Alo Doctor" - a specialized medical news broadcast live from 12:30 to 12:40 every day on national television channel VTV9. Attending were Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Lien Huong; Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc.
According to Mr. Tu Luong, Director of Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City, with the characteristics of a national television channel, covering the whole country and free to all households, VTV9 built the program "Alo Doctor" in the direction of a "medical news" bulletin, with a vivid, close, easy-to-understand form for people; is a place to continuously, promptly and fully update current medical issues, especially the development of epidemics and prevention and treatment measures.
The “Alo Doctor” newsletter also regularly updates and conveys policies of the State and the World Health Organization; activities, achievements, and typical examples of hospitals and medical facilities in caring for and protecting public health, especially in the southern provinces and cities.
In addition to broadcasting on television, the program "Alo Doctor" is also communicated on digital platforms, social networks, newspapers, and radio to reach more people everywhere, anytime, on different devices.
“Through the medical news program “Alo Doctor”, VTV9 commits to working with the health sector and society to convey messages and skills to protect health; contribute to raising awareness of disease prevention among each citizen and the whole community; contribute to pushing back the problem of fake news, inaccurate and unobjective news in the field of health and disease prevention, thereby contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment and health care for the people”, Mr. Tu Luong emphasized.
At the same time, “Alo Doctor” also coordinates with hospitals, medical facilities, social organizations, businesses, and individuals to initiate and develop community campaigns, aiming to equip people with skills to protect and care for their health; campaigns to support health care for disadvantaged and vulnerable groups in the community.
On this occasion, VTV9 and the Central Center for Health Communication and Education (Ministry of Health) signed a memorandum of understanding on "coordinating communication on health activities, disseminating knowledge on care, protection and improvement of community health on the Alo Doctor program".
The “Alo Doctor” news bulletin is broadcast live every day from 12:30 to 12:40. After 2 months of broadcasting (from July 10), there have been 63 news bulletins with a total duration of more than 630 minutes and nearly 1,000 pieces of medical information updated every day.
Through the hotline 1900.969600, "Alo Doctor" receives many calls every day from people across the country raising concerns, questions, sharing... about issues related to medicine and health. The questions are compiled, edited and answered by a team of experts and doctors in "Alo Doctor" newsletters.
