Phuoc Long District (Ca Mau Province) currently has 44 hectares of land for growing water celery, mainly concentrated in two communes: Vinh Thanh and Vinh Phu Dong. The cultivation time of water celery is short, from 60 - 75 days/crop, so farmers in Phuoc Long district can grow 3 - 4 crops/year.

Water celery yield is from 38 - 40 tons/ha/year, profit is from 50 - 65 million VND/ha/crop (depending on time), 5 - 7 times higher than rice cultivation.

According to the assessment of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Phuoc Long district, Bac Lieu province: The cultivation time of water celery is short, the soil and vegetable roots can be utilized for many years, reducing part of the cost of seeds, giving quite high profits, from 150 - 200 million VND/ha/year.
