Saudi Arabia Striker Cristiano Ronaldo threw his runner-up medal into the stands during the awards ceremony after Al Nassr lost 0-2 to Al Hilal in the final of the Riyadh Cup friendly.

After the match at Kingdom Arena, Riyadh on February 8, on the podium, Al Hilal striker Aleksandar Mitrovic received the Championship Cup, and midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic won the Best Player award.

Ronaldo was furious when he saw that scene. He called his teammates to go into the tunnel to the locker room. On the way, the Portuguese striker was still angry, took off his silver medal and threw it into the stands.

Ronaldo had a similar reaction after helping Al Nassr come from behind to beat Al Hilal 2-1 in the Arab Club Champions Cup final in August 2023. The Portuguese striker scored twice, but lost the Man of the Match award to Milinkovic-Savic.

Seeing his opponent receive the award, Ronaldo said something to a member of the organizing committee, then raised two fingers to indicate that he scored two goals. After hearing this member's answer, Ronaldo smiled in a disapproving manner. After that, the 39-year-old striker laughed and joked before going up to receive the Cup.

Ronaldo also had a series of controversial reactions in the final of the Riyadh Cup. During the match, the 39-year-old striker received a yellow card from female referee Tori Penso for kicking the ball into the stands. He also responded to Al Hilal fans who kept chanting Lionel Messi's name by facing the stands, making hand gestures, calling for calm and saying "I am Cristiano, not Messi".

At the end of the match, Ronaldo led the Al Nassr members to the podium to receive the award. The former Man Utd and Real Madrid striker appeared annoyed with a staff member who was blocking his way, waving his arms in a gesture of attitude and muttering something under his breath.

As he entered the tunnel, Ronaldo was hit by a fan who threw an Al Hilal scarf at him. The former Man Utd and Real Madrid striker bent down to pick up a scarf, stuffed it into his crotch and threw it to the right.

In this match, Al Hilal won easily 2-0 thanks to goals from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Salem Aldawsari. Ronaldo returned to play after two weeks of injury and did not leave much of an impression.

After completing the Riyadh Cup friendly tournament, Ronaldo and his teammates will begin the second leg of the season with a match against Al Feiha in the first leg of the AFC Champions League round of 16 today, February 14.
